SALT / PEPPER

You're probably all sick of the constant Melbournian rant of "ugh, thanks for the four-seasons-in-a-day weather"
but here it is again. Just when I think I can put my coats into storage and bring out my 'kinis, we get more stormy/rainy
(cue: strange) days where I don't know whether to wear a skirt and brave the morning cold, or wear jeans and scorch in
the afternoon sun, and either way I have to make sure I have an umbrella on me or else risk getting drenched.

The one positive thing about Spring being a mixture of everything is I get to actually wear all of my wardrobe,
both hot & cold appropriate clothing. I honestly didn't think I'd have a chance to wear my new Cameo the Label
knit jumper before my Japan trip in January, but turns out woohoo I can :D

Cameo the Label The Way knit (purchase here, here and here)
Staple the Label sting-ray shorts (purchase here and here)
Sportsgirl sunglasses (shop the range here)

This knit is hand-knitted, cable-knit, salt & pepper awesome sauce! It's cozy and has an awesome shape to it.
It's definitely going to run a high rotation in Japan and next year in Winter too. Happy Monday, hope your week is going better than mine so far - I've been drenched in rain & had my shift cancelled at work. Eh, it's only Monday. There's only one way to go now and that's up! ;) x x Stace

STRIPES

Stripes. I have an inexplainable attraction to stripes. I seriously have about 5 blue & white striped tops in my wardrobe and everytime I see one in a shop I have to pick it up/try it on! I think it's because I'm slightly obssessed with anything nautical. A sailor dress and anything with anchors is also on my wishlist. Anyway, I've been searching for the perfect striped skirt for a while now, and I finally found one when I was on my way home from work last week.

Staple the Label cross-over shirt / Country Road neoprene stripe skirt / Evil Twin bralette / Rayban aviators from Vision Direct

My other wish-list item that has finally been fulfilled is a white shirt. Just plain, no embellishments, no cut outs, no weird collars, no see-through bits and definitely not one of those old people shirts - something classic but modern. It's surprising how difficult it was to find one. This Staple the Label baby is a beautiful soft material that drapes over my body and has a lovely cross-over front part which shows a peek of what's underneath. I'm thinking maybe a safety pin for when I go to work so I don't accidentally flash any of the students LOL.

I can really see the white shirt & striped skirt running on high rotation for the rest of Spring and into Summer. What must-have wish-list items do you have for the warmer months? I also need a pair of flats - I live in boots & they are on their way out, even though I drag Winter out as long as possible it's way too warm now!

AW X HM

Over the last few days, one of the things popping up the most on social media has been the EAGERLY anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M designer collab. The lookbook shots have been released, and it's pretty much as amazing as I expected it to be. It is seriously the sportluxe fantasy we were hoping for, and convincingly embodies Wang’s native aesthetic of minimalism, and of course uniform black/white monochrome. With strappy scuba dresses, thick WANG emblazoned sweatshirts, mesh-paneled leggings, cropped bra-tops, leather joggers, and puffer jackets - there are even boxing gloves and a yoga mat!

Above are some of my fave lookbook snaps from the Alexander Wang for H&M collection. I am DEFS gonna try and get a hold of a couple of the crop tops and that grey sweater. Maybe even a little something for Justin even though he really couldn't care less about fashion haha. It seems to be pretty affordable based on my online research :P Most of the things I want are under $100 and it'll be worth it to finally own some Wang for my wardrobe!

The collection hits 240 H&M stores and hm.com on November 6th. Select pieces will also be available on alexanderwang.com

ALSO - if you wanna know prices of individual items here's a list I found!

ALLEY HANGS

Ray-ban reflective aviators via Vision Direct
Cotton On Body puffa vest
Maurie & Eve exhale jeans
Nike free runs
Staple the Label stripy bag

A busy day of gym, running errands and teaching piano means comfy clothes and practicality. I don't ever compromise on comfort when I'm running around like a crazy woman. Nothing better than a slubby t-shirt, puffa vest and my trusty Nike sneaks to get me through the day. Oh and of course a sneaky couple of cups of tea too ;)

One trend I never thought I would EVER indulge in is drop crotch pants. These jeans from Maurie & Eve have a slight drop crotch and a low rise. Not my usual style. But these are my new favourite. I thought they'd make my legs look super short but seriously it's so worth it!

Hope everyone is starting the week in comfort & style. I'm just happy Melbourne is back to sunshine. Summer where you at yo?

BOYFRIEND

I've posted plenty about boyfriend jeans since starting this blog. Denim has been staple in fashion since, well, ages. It's classic, it's versatile and it's been reincarnated in so many forms. I don't think any wardrobe is complete without some form of denim. Boyfriend denim is one of my favourite trends. It's mostly a casual type of jean but I do think the boyfriend style can be adapted for work & also classier situations. Here are a few of my faves:
BOOHOO Distressed Bleach Relaxed Jeans, $50

KOOKAÏ Boyfriend Jeans, $140

RIDERS BY LEE Tomboy Rigid Jean, $99.95
COUNTRY ROAD Slouchy Boyfriend Jean, $129

ONE TEASPOON Black Awesome Baggies, $150

SUPRE Alexa Boyfriend Jean, $45

For a casual look, team with a vintage band tee and chucks or sneakers. For work, opt for the no-rip option with a silky collared shirt and a blazer, plus a pair of black boots. And if you're out on the town, go for a strappy cami or a leather top, and some killer heels and bling!

Voila. Boyfriend jeans are around to stay so get on it & thank me later ;)

RAY-BAN

My mirrored/reflective lens sunglasses obsession has ended! Well it hasn't really ended, it's only just started. More like, the hunt for the perfect mirrored sunnies is overrrr.

Thanks to Vision Direct, I now am the proud owner of these Rayban Mirrored Aviators. They are the perfect shiny bluey-green colour and pretty much go with anything black, white or cool-coloured in my wardrobe, which is about 80% of it anyway! Keeping it casual in a summery/fruity outfit :)

Witchery top
Gorman skirt
Windsor Smith sandals
Rayban sunglasses (from visiondirect.com.au)

Thanks Melbz for some nice weather this week. Keep it up plz.

Also, happy weekend!!

Gucci Spring 15

I am goddamn obssessed with this collection. Like what even. It's a beautiful fusion of 70's chic in burnt orange, deep red and olive green, inky navy and top-to-toe leather/denims. There is such a classic European style and confidence that just exudes from these outfits. I wish I could just whirl around Milan or something in all of this stuff.

Gucci is known for their vintage-y aesthetic, but you know what? They pull it off. They make cropped pants and jeans, neck-tie scarves, laced up shirts and woven brown belts look cool and new and awesome. It's super sophisticated, and super sexy.

I mean seriously. That first red dress is just...I can't even.

Well done Gucci, I applaud you 👌
