HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

I filled up on Easter eggs, and a huuuuge family feast with the boyf's fam on the weekend. Feelin' full still!

This outfit was from last week, when the sun was still shining (unlike today, ugh). Just taking advantage of the last few rays of warm sunshine before winter hits Melbourne! It's not often that we get shorts weather in the middle of April, so when it does happen I'm quick to get my legs out to play. I'm pretty chuffed with myself for co-ordinating so many lighter colours into this outfit (lots of greens in my outfit & the backyard hence the title hehe) - there is not a smidge of black to be seen! Besides my hair of course.

Oh yeah, check out my new haircut. I dig it, having short hair and also an undercut means my hair so much easier to maintain. If you didn't know, my hair is super super thick usually.

Well...now that Easter is over I think it's time to hit the gym.

Toodles.

PASHLI

So I think I've fallen in love with an inanimate object. No, it's okay, I'm not going to leave my boyfriend for it. I'm not going to marry an object, I just can't stop thinking about it & keep stalking it's page on Net-A-Porter.

Now I've always said that I'm not a bag person...I'd rather spend my money on a few good pieces of clothing than buy an 'it' designer bag, but when I saw the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli with a blue croc-embossed leather something changed inside of me.

I need this bag.

It is perfection in a bag.

So I'm saving up my pennies now coz this Phillip Lim baby is gonna be mine, alllll mine.

PS. If anyone would like to make a donation to my Pashli fund, feel free ;)

BASIC

So much love for anything black & white lately.
You could probably call it a borderline obssession. My last outfit post is just the beginning!

Black is always the easiest colour to go with but trawling tumblr, there are so many white minimal interiors and decor that I really really enjoy looking at, and I've started to experiment more with wearing the colour white too. I just have to a lot more careful when I eat :P

What do you guys think of black & white...too basic or just right?

QUILTED

Everybody say hello to my rabbit Houdini! He's stolen the show before I even get to write anything in this post! He is wearing a black & white coat which matches my outfit perfectly! (Or is it the other way around?)

Cameo the Label Friendly Fires vest
Lolitta shirt dress (old!)
Kmart boots (Chloe Susanna boot knockoff)
Lovisa earcuff
Sportsgirl tights & handchain

My white shirt dress from Lolitta is crisp, but I have to say the weather is crisper. It's that time of year where I roll out of bed in the morning and the air has that slight chill to it. It's kind of a relief from all that hot Summer weather that's haunted us well into Autumn. I could really never describe the beauty of a good shirt dress/white shirt properly t you - it's a perfect layering piece that's (crisp) casual and comfy and kinda corporate too, with the collar and all. (*BOOM* just look at that alliteration guys!)

Anyway, I layered my shirt dress, if it's long enough to be called a dress (shh!) with my Cameo quilted vest. Yep, DAT knockoff of the Goot one. I love it because it's so darn warm and snuggly. Like a quilt (like the thick quilt I use when I feel cold). Coz it's quilted. Geddit? ...Not funny? Oh. Yeah working six days a week plus uni plus trying to get to the gym to lift heavy things does that to you. My brain is kinda frazzled. Thank god it's the school holidays, I get two weeks off teaching but the masses of teenagers and children on the train on the way to check out H&M yesterday were a bit of a nightmare. You might be wondering what I thought/whether I took pics of the massive GPO superstore...I don't think it deserves a post of its own - I was rather underwhelmed to say the least.

Anyway, this outfit post is continuing on from the theme of the last one - wearing things that sit in my wardrobe neglected. This white shirt dress is from my high school days when I had a thing for shirt-dresses and surprisingly it still fits, though it is a little crinkled!

What pieces in your wardrobe do you not wear enough? Pull them out and wear them I say. No point hoarding clothes and never showing them off.

Happy Thursday (one day til the weekend starts!)

PS. To my friends who actually know me, this is an old outfit that I wore on Tuesday...I didn't magically grow my hair back! I actually got a hair cut yesterday and I sent some people a pic. It's much shorter now and you can't put it in a bun. Pics to come! ;)

AUTUMNE

So it's officially April, and the leaves are falling from the trees. We've had the weirdest mixture of too-stinking-hot-to-wear-clothes days, and omgomgfreezingmytitsoff days where the wind chills to the bone. So typical of you Melbourne, you're so predictable. Naht. Anyway, I think the trickiest part about trying to pick outfits is knowing whether you've worn enough layers to keep you warm on the walk to the train station in the morning, but also having something underneath your wooly jumper for when it gets sunny and you're working up a sweat that could rival the Yarra river...

So here are a few essentials I've rounded up for the coming couple of months. Boyfriend jeans, check. A white shirt that can be layered up, check. Wedge sneakers (need I remind you guys of my obssession? I don't care if they're 'last season' I need them in my life.) and a comfy bralette and of course a signature scent so your lover (or lack of one) can recognise you ;)

BRB it's the weekend and I just got home from work. Time to wriggle into my boyfriend jeans and meet up with my boyfriend for a Mexican dinner!

What are your Autumn essentials? (This post can also apply to Spring for all you Northern Hemisphere homies)

LE TIGRE

MINKPINK tiger dress
Sportsgirl body chain/earrings/bracelets
House of Harlow starburst ring
PARED eyewear cats-eye sunglasses
Windsor Smith ripple sandals
Thailand bag

This week, Melbourne has decided that it is rejecting the fact that it is April, and nearing the middle of Autumn. Like seriously, it's 31 degrees. What is wrong with this world? It's too hot to wear anything besides dresses and sandals, and I guess I'm not complaining - this is swimming & ice-cream & sunglasses weather and that's what I have been taking advantage of!

Loving the combination of tribal pom poms on my bag and the tiger print on this little bodycon dress. This is literally my favourite bag now, I bought it at the markets in Koh Samui, Thailand and now I wish I'd bought it in a few more colours and sizes! Dreaming of cocktails and jet-skiing ahhhh. The dress is a little short, but oh well a little bit of bare leg never did anyone any harm ;)

I'm trying really hard to keep my outfits interesting instead of always wearing basics, like striped tees and boyfriend jeans, that's pretty much my uni staples. This dress has sat in my wardrobe unworn, I was inspired by Lena and Frockled to wear some unusual/neglected items, thanks girl!

Do you guys find yourself straying the the same pieces of clothing over and over? I think it's an easy trap to fall into.

Happy Tuesday err'ybawdy!
