FARAWEN SILKS

Image
My housemate's beautiful friend Carmen makes scarves. Hand painted hand created illustrated silk scarves. Storytelling scarves to finish an outfit. They are absolutely beautiful and unique - a timeless product that will withstand trends and fads. Lately I have been interested in cutting down on fast fashion and reducing my wardrobe to basics and more timeless pieces. I decided to interview Carmen about her Farawen Silks, and what inspires her work. Watch this absolutely breath-taking video of the scarf-making process! Tell me a bit about your background growing up, and your hobbies. I’ve grown up in Bath, England. I spent a lot of my time growing up with my family visiting art galleries and theatres on holiday, which definitely influenced my choices and paths. I went on to do an art foundation and studied Theatre and Performance design in Liverpool. After working freelance for a little while I did a complete U-turn and moved to Greece for a couple of summers, worked for a...

LOVE & LEMONS

Image
It's what underneath that counts...right? So, I guess when you think about fashion and outfits, and dressing yourself, you don't really think about the things that go under your clothes. I mean sure, you can't SEE it most of the time, but as any woman knows, the type of underwear you have on can make a massive difference to how you feel. There's certainly something special about slipping into a new lacy lingerie set, even if it's hidden under work uniform or 5 billion Winter layers. Anyway, the rare occasion that I get a new set AND I match my bra to my underwear, I basically feel like I have my shit together. Good feeling, haha. Lately I've been obsessed with the label For Love & Lemons , and their delicate lingerie. I love the attention to details; the mesh and the lace and the embroidery is just beautiful. I haven't yet had the guts to splurge out and get myself a set - two reasons: trying to save money is hard, and also I'm quite aware tha...

CROCODILE

Image
Gorman has always loved a good print. And so do I. That's why it seems I tend to post about every second Gorman collection that ever gets released, and why I adore Gorman's quirky & fun pieces. Animal print, checks, stripes, veggies and more feature in their ever colourful clothing. This Winter - refer to last post if you wanna know why winter is officially here - Gorman excites yet again with 'Never smile at a crocodile'. Featuring (you guessed it smarty pants) a cute as heck cartoon crocodile print & cactuses! Wait, I think the right word I'm looking for is cacti hah. And warm knits and a perfect gloomy blue/green colour palette, a keyhole graphic and boxy cuts and super platform heels. I'm officially re-in love with Gorman, if that's even a possible thing lol. My fave pieces? The keyhole print jacket, the leather skirt & the fluffy navy jumper ♥ Crocodile lovers be on guard...some of these clothes have dropped in already I b...

SCANLAN & THEODORE Just a sorry in advance for the blurry/crooked pics and the heads in the way - this was my first time taking photos of a runway so...yeah haha. opening ceremony x adidas originals

Image
Opening Ceremony have collaborated with adidas Originals on a FW12 capsule collection to launch the London Olympics in style, and also to celebrate Opening Ceremony's first London store. I am a definite fan of this super cool collab! Diggin' the 90s + sport-luxe vibe to these pieces; it's like 90s street attitude had a baby with swimming and cycling to produce bold florals and paisleys and bright colours blended with, according to OC, 'dynamic' fabrics: you've got dry-swim spandex, neoprene, nylon twills, and reflective finishes married to incredibly crisp & sleek cuts. This collection will be available next month so keep your eyes out for when it hits stores (and probably blogger & celeb wardrobes!) Shot by Josh Olins and styled by Jay Massacret, the campaign features models Xiao Wen Ju, Camille Rowe, Jordan Torres, and Shane Gibson. What do you guys think? Do these pieces translate to everyday wear? x x Stace FACEBOOK //...
