rag & bone: fall '12

The amazing Kate Moss hits the streets for Rag & Bone's Fall 2012 Campaign.
These photos were shot by Craig McDean in North London, and Ms. Moss oozes,
as always, casual elegance and effortless cool in these snaps!
Wouldn't mind wearing both those outfit myself, not that I'd look as good...

I'm a big fan :)

PS. I'm kinda all pooped out from the first week back at uni, hence the lack of posts.
A few of my lovely friends went to the Kings of Carnaby launch last night so they will
be posting soon. Argh I wish I'd gone!!! :(

PPS. Been playing around with business card designs, feedback??

Black & Neutral.

Went to brekkie with Em at a cute little place near my house, and she helped me take some snaps :)

Stacy: Target aviator jacket, Dotti knit, Forever New maxi skirt, Diva necklace + rings.
Em: Forever New parka, Quirky Circus knit, Portmans?? jeans, Wittner boots.

Somehow whenever Em & I finally get the time to catch up, it seems to involve some form of eating!
...not that I'm complaining! Em came to my neighborhood this time, we went to a cafe in Prahran
called Is It Cafe. This place had a lovely, homey feel to it, because it is actually inside of a house
on Izett St, Prahran. The cottage has an open feel and the service is great - very personal
and friendly. Our meals were also pretty damn delicious, I had something called 'Salmon
Squeak' which unfortunately I do not have a photo of...

Also - I've noticed I'm becoming quite minimalist in my wardrobe - lots of blacks and neutrals
have been featuring in my outfits, and I've been selling heaps of stuff on eBay too. I guess it
comes with moving out and my life changing and blah blah blah. I like it :)

Also just been on a lovely weekend with the boy to Lorne - we only took my old Canon SLR so
photos will not be appearing until I can be bothered developing the film...

Hope everyone has been enjoying the (relatively) cheerful weather in Melbourne recently, it's
nice to see some sun at last, even though it's still pretty cold.

Wish: Mistaken for Strangers

Two weeks ago it was a rainy Friday night when I headed to Fashion Lounge in Flinders Lane to
preview Wish Clothing's newest Spring collection. Luckily I bumped into Sevan at the door,
as I nearly missed the entrance! The venue really set the mood, with free glasses of bubbly and
amicable chats with fellow bloggers making for a relaxed evening :) I had the pleasure of
seeing a few Melbourne bloggers there, besides Sevan I met Anastasia, Sophie, Twee and Rachel & Esther.

So, Spring. Florals, pastels and flirty fun dresses right? Well, yes & no. The first thing I
noticed was the colours. Rich mustard, vibrant fuchsia, warm olive, with explosions of tangerine
and mint. There is sure to be something for everyone in this collection with a combination
of pastels, graphic prints, bold n brights, floral lace and neutrals.

I tried on an AMAZING KIMONO as seen above - the black fringing and the warm Autumnal print are instantly eye-catching. I need this in my life ASAP.

Madeline, in her cute blue short-suit, helped facilitate the evening, and was a perfect host offering us drinks and chatting to us about the inspiration and pieces in the collection. I'm really enjoying all of the matchy-matchy short suits in the Wish collection, and for any gal I think it's going to be a serious investment piece for the upcoming Spring!

Gorgeous Melbourne blogger girls!

Sevan, Twee & I

Anastasia's beaded jacket by Thurley - lovelovelove.

DJ/Model Christine, who was the face of the Wish 10 campaign, was at the event
charming everyone present with her gorgeous looks and amazing skills - she spins at
parties all over the world for celebs and royalty alike, and she's just such an all-
round awesome lady. I was privileged to meet her and chat with her - she's such a
humble and talented lady! She played a set at Fashion Lounge after the preview
showing and while I wasn't able to stay I have no doubt that she rocked the joint!

All in all I'm glad to report that this is another great collection
from an iconic& ever popular Aussie label.

This collection, titled 'Mistaken for Strangers' is dropping in stores now and throughout the
next couple of months, there are some absolute standout pieces so watch this space!

PS. I have post-holiday depression. Queensland was sunny and
beautiful and now I'm back in the cold again :(

Resort Report: 2013

The international release of Resort collections have been appearing throughout May and June, and
after drooling over a few too many pieces that I will never be able to afford, I thought I might post my
edit of the Resort '13 collections. The Resort season generally brings the most wearable pieces of
each label, and often previews of trends to come in ready-to-wear collections ahead. I find the
garment styles are really well suited to our Aussie lifestyle too :)

Resort collections are also vibrant, creative and full of inspiration so here goes!

A.L.C.

With inspiration drawn from African travels, I adore this collection's unfussy, basic silhouettes featuring
neutral earth tones accented with bold tribal reds, white and yellow. I love the understated prints and
the luxe textures. These are the sorts of pieces I'd want to be adding to my wardrobe.

Markus Lupfer

Love this twist on sportluxe: the t-shirts, tailored shorts and skirts wouldn't look out of place in a gym with
black & white a predominant colour, BUT then you add some playful prints and finally the pieces are finished
with metallic sheens in lilac & rich maroon. Swoon!

Burberry Prorsum

Loving that the modern trends are interpreted in an old-school 1930's way. This collection is super versatile due to the the trans-seasonal layering and classic colours such as olive, navy, greys and
burnt caramel - very wearable and lots of staple pieces!

Vena Cava

Vene Cava is probably my all-time fave label! In keeping with their modern-vintage aesthetic are
some awesome prints - a red oriental design, a large-scale bright floral & spunky neon-light
geometric graphic were splattered on a range of silky separates.

What was your favourite collection and which trends will you be trying out? :)
