Orange ya glad?

I know, the title of this post is lame. But I had to use the word orange somewhere, as this outfit is in honor of Pantone's 2012 Colour of the Year, Tangerine Tango.

I'll admit, at first I was like dude I'm gonna look like an orange, but heck I'm 19 and I'm allowed to experiment with fashion right? Anyway the subtle brown-orangey patterns on the kimono soften the glare of the bright pants.

One Teaspoon havenstock kimono, Kmart panelled singlet, Valleygirl cuffed pants, Mum's totes hippie belt, Tony Bianco leather clogs.

One Teaspoon kimonos are actually the best thing. I feel kinda like a cross between a stylish superhero in a print cape and a Japanese princess who fell into a pot of dip-dye. It's so light and breezy, plus it blows around in the wind and it covers my shoulders which means I avoid looking like a lobster when I go out in the sun.

Anyway. Loving my "tangerine" pants as well. Grabbed the last pair on sale at Valleygirl for $14.95, winner! They're a little too big but having my pants fall down is totally worth having these tailored, perfectly crinkled cheapies in my wardrobe :')

Hope everyone had a good January, the first month of this year has literally flown by. Big Day Out pics coming in the next few days I hope! Getting them scanned and edited and such as soon as I post this post. Wew, it was SUCH a good day and I saw so many good bands!!! I kinda wish I'd brought a digital camera so I could take more pics, but ah well I have the memories in here *points to head* and -cheesy grin-

Label I Love: Gorman

This collection by Aussie label Gorman is seriously just deliciously avant-garde yet vintage-y perfection.
If those two words are even allowed to be in the same sentence together, haha.

But seriously: clean, unfussy sheath dresses and ankle-hugging skinny pants. Not-quite-neon block colours with subtle details. Slightly stylised retro-esque prints. The horse necklace. A bit of glitter detail here and there. Who could miss those polka dot socks. And the elusive perfect Winter coat - I've found mine, right there in that leopard print cropped sleeve number!! Mmmm.

I'm so looking forward to Autumn, if it means I can dress like this!! Which is weird cos for the last three months all I've talked about is Summer...typical me. Plus do you think I'm ever gonna own a wardrobe of Gorman, seriously? Stop dreaming Stace.

Ah well, the weather these past couple of weeks has been AWESOME - beach and dress weather for sure.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year was on Monday, and I'm just a tad excited
for the Year of the Dragon!!! How gorgeous has the weather
been in Melbourne?! This is definitely the Summer that
I've been yearning for. I've slowly been getting a tan - hoorah
for my legs being brown now, instead of Edward-Cullen-pasty-white!

Supre shirt, Op-shopped tube skirt + glasses, Sportsgirl necklace, Tony Bianco wedges.

I wore this fuchsia skirt out to lunch for New Year's with
three of my best friends, just to infuse a little colour into my outfit.
The lucky colour for the Chinese is red, but...close enough, right?
My outfit was inspired by Elizabeth Chase Olsen, the relatively unknown
little sister of the world's favourite twin sisters, Mary-Kate & Ashley.
She's not as well-known, but is slowly making her name as both
an actress and a style icon in her own right!

Isn't she just stunning!

Tangerine Tango is Pantone's Colour of the Year for 2012!!

According to Pantone it's “a spirited reddish orange” that will “provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward." It "marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Love.

It's definitely a STRONG colour, so I'm thinking Tangerine is nice as part of an aztec print, or in nail polish or shoes, not as a whole outfit colour...as pretty as it is I think it's a bit OTT. What do you guys think??

Hello! First post of 2012! ...It's kinda almost half way through the month already...but shh.

So anyway. I have to admit, I have a slight thing for old things. You know...vintage clothing, classical music, old buildings, grandmothers...well joking about that last one, sorta. I do love my grandma. Anyway, these are the film photos of the Suzuki Night Market featuring my white dress from the last post, as promised. Snapped on Em's mum's Canon camera, I definitely approve of the old-school look of these pics :)

Summer is here; days are growing long while nights grow tantalisingly shorter. I'm thinking lazy cocktails on balconies and late night beach rendezvous need some appropriate attire. Presenting...*drumroll*...the LWD aka Little White Dress. Yes! White isperhaps a little trickier to pull off than the black that is our usual go to. Yet when done right, it's classy, confident and will effortlessly take you from the beach to the bar!!

Here are my recent white dress purchases:

Can't wait to get some good wear into these babies in the warmer days ahead!! I wore the one in the middle to the Suzuki Night Market with Em and Miriam last Wednesday, might put up some pics for the next post :)

DIY-inspired jewellery!

I have been seeing all this awesome strings and ropes and beads stuff in the fashion world - I think DIY and friendship jewellery is really making a comeback!!
Definitely planning on making some colourful bracelets and necklaces like these ones!
They'd make great xmas presents that's for sure.
Em bought a cute handmade bracelet from the Suzuki night markets we went to tonight.
On another note can't believe it's the end of the year...2011 what happened?

Ooops. It's been another 3 weeks and I haven't been blogging.
Damn I'm over making excuses for it, let's just say I'm lazy. Heh.

Well first thing; thank you to Beginning Boutique for this lovely YSL-esque ring. It's got a massive red rock in it. BB boutique knows what makes a girl happy. Hehe.

Went thrifting with my lovely uni friends Jaz, Em, Alex and Molly.
Unfortunately didn't think to take any snaps of us, but my outfit was just a black tshirt and denim shorts,
as you know thrifting involves trying on 5731 items of old-people-smelling garments, so...y'know.

We had a little competition going - who could buy the most with $30.
Pretty much every one of us went over the budget, but I reckon Molly won, with 8 items at ~$40.
Nothing like a bit of stingy competition between uni students!!

Anyway I'm rambling and off track. But basically this outfit post, which was done indoors
cos I cbf going outside, consists of items from the Salvation army store on Sydney Rd.
And it cost me basically the price of a lunch and coffee. Win!

Christmas is fast approaching and asjkfhdkjgh present shopping and stuff is DA WERST.
I've been considering shopping online for gifts this year.
Also it's my best friend Evan's birthday tonight, I wanted to post his present on here but then I remembered that he reads my blog occasionally so I can't. PARTY TONIGHT SO GOTTA GOOOOO.

So. My exams finished yesterday. I'd like to say that I ran out of the Royal Exhibition Building screaming and waving my arms wildly about, then partied all night and drank til I forgot all of the stuff I'd crammed in...

But what happened in reality is I sat at home, and sketched. Oh I'm such a hardcore teenager. Hahaha.

Yay! Another post, I told you guys I was back for good!
I had two exams today - Biology: Genetics and Evolution and Music Performance 2D, which was a piano recital.
Really dreading Physics: Life Sciences on Thursday :(

Anyway, now that I'm back to blogging I've also been mentally making a list of items that I need to go shopping for. Top of the list is pretty much EVERYTHING from Evil Twin's Summer 2011/12 Collection

My wardrobe this season has been quite lacking of the kind of primal colours in this collection - earthy rust, fire-engine red, black (I know, shocking!), citrus yellow and various shades of snakey green/grey. Plus I am drooling over those lattice-y cut outs, drapey silhouettes and graphic prints.

Well you know what? I think it's time I got my grunge on again this Summer. Spend a lot of time in General Pants the other day, and I know ASOS also stocks some Evil Twin, so really I have no excuse not to get my grubby little hands on some platinum evil! :)

Hey guys,

So remember my post about THE leopard wedge boot from STYLETREAD from a few months ago? Well I'm back to wax lyrical about shoes again!

These shoes are to die for..they combine the chic classy chelsea boot with the totally on trend neon bright of orange plus my fave print ever - aztec print!

And as to why I want to win $2000 dollars of shoes? Well...let's just say that I haven't bought a new pair of shoes since I bought my black formal pumps last year in June. I mean, being a uni student who is also moving out, I am on a limited budget, and I have been forced to trawl Savers, op-shops and vintage stores and (gasp) my mother's wardrobe for my shoe indulgence...oh my poor poor feet! I adore this video for the new collection 'Castaways' - the quiet calm, the interesting lighting and the raw wilderness setting and of course the classic yet unique and modern twist to Natalie Wood's collection of clothing. Something Else would have to be one of my top Aussie labels. One of my fave all time labels in fact.

Such inspirational pieces. I definitely need to get my hands on that pleated skirt and also the greyish graphic print pants with the black rope tie!! ASJfhsjfgjdhg so perfect!

I've been going through a bit of a tough time in life, but slowly resolving stuff so sorry for being away for so long and not reading people's posts or talking to anyone!! I hope to o another outfit posts soon...maybe I'll pull out an old piece of Something Else clothing to show you :)

Aztec Whites

A summery semi-sunny day in the middle of Winter, rare as hell.
Windy, but at least I could bare my legs without freezing, no complaints there.
So I thought I better do a quick outfit post while it lasts!
Channeling my aztec side with tribal prints and metal head-armour and clean white silhouettes, and while I was at it I thought I should pull out some of my old Forever New gear. Pretty glad I don't work there any more though. I was spending more than I earnt!!

Say hello to my rabbit Houdini too, he wanted in on the action! What a poser :P

I'm in China, buying some bits and pieces, as promised I will be giving away some things upon my return!

Had a simple yet delicious brunch with my two high-school best friends, Miriam (pictured above with meee) and Emma, who was a little camera shy (!).
A relaxing walk and train trip, pot of chai latte,
a delicious pumpkin, feta, spinach salad
and long-awaited chats with my two girls was just lovely!

My aim this holidays is to enjoy the simple things in life and also to declutter. When I've cleaned out my room hopefully it'll help me get my life organised too! What's everyone else been up to?

This week I am inspired by knits and wool, Asia,
suitcases and wanderlust, landscapes, books, and anything vintage.

Guess what?! I'm going overseas; China is my destination! :)
Confirmed all the details today, and am going first to Guangzhou to see my family ♥, then to Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Wuxi. I was going to go to Hong Kong too (mmm shopping) but unfortunately have no time :( But never fear, I will still be shopping in Guangzhou. There are heaps of markets and little shops and everything is cheapcheapcheap!

Meanwhile it's SO cold in Melbourne, I'm frozen and haven't even left the house today.
Sorry for the hiatus again, outfit post soon I promise...

Vena Cava A/W '11/'12

Anyone been following New York Fashion Week? This has been my fave collection so far:

Main trends I can see? Draped yet well tailored maxi-skirts and mega-flare pants with waistlines nice and high, cute little frenchy berets, sharp shoulders...it's grunge, but elegant early 90s grunge that I feel myself coveting this Winter!! Wooohoo for Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock, they've definitely done a great job of this collection. View the rest at Vogue Aus's website.

The colour scheme of warm blocks of rust, navy, and gray were lovely, and of course they didn't forget classic black. And no one can whip up an interesting neckline like they can!! Look at those awesome cut-outs, and the square neckline WOW.

That last black maxi is amazing, no? There's one just like it at Forever New which is my place of work, and now I know where they ripped it off from. I bought it too, and it is featuring in my next outfit post ;)

Vintage maxi-skirt Supre shirt

a. I don't usually wear lipstick but this one was a Christmas gift, it's a nice colour but I don't think I did it properly, fail. Someone told me to youtube how to apply lipstick, and I might have to :$ Ignore my rabbit-teeth also...

b. This shirt is so cool, especially cos my shoulders are probably one of my best assets! I really like Supre at the moment, I used to hate it but I've changed my mind. It's really good because it's cheap and since I'm so broke.

c. Meanwhile, I've got an interview for volunteering at LMFF (Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival), do any of you Melbourne bloggers have any experience with that? I'm very excited :)

Soo 2threads, teamed up with he uber popular Aussie surf brand Billabong, have again come up with another awesome blog initiative, to share what Summer fashion means to me! Inspired by the great weather we've had in recent days in Melbourne, I've compiled a little post here for you guys.

To me, Summer fashion is effortless, and only has two rules you must stick to: be both stylish and comfortable.
The only "must-have" is a great swimming costume and the confidence to pull it off once you hit the sand!

Here are some great picks for the Summer:

Then slip on something that doesn't require buttons, belts, shoelaces or other annoyances that might hinder the strip you must undergo at the beach - a simple sundress, a crop top and skirt, an oversized singlet, or the beach classic - a pair of ripped denim cut-offs and a cute tee. Outfit done and dusted, now to hit the waves!

Beach essentials:
1. A large beach bag that can hold all of your stuff, like this one from Billabong.
2. A beach towel, to sunbathe on AND to dry yourself so that you don't get wet patches on your clothes later on.
3. Sunnies and suncreen and a sunhat
4. Phone
5. Snacks. For those post-swimming hunger pangs. Duh.
6. Sunscreen; nothing worse than turning into a lobster the day after. Be SunSmart at all times :)
7. Camera, I can tell you there will be plenty of Kodak moments!
8. (Optional): Portable speakers and an iPod to pump out some Summer tunes!!

Don't forget to swim between the flags, and remember: beach fashion is about STYLE and COMFORT. Don't compromise!

Just thought I might share some photos of NYE with you, as well as pictures of my Friday night with the two best friends :)

We had a pretty quiet New Year's celebration at a friend's house, swam in her pool/sat in the spa then returned to another friend's house where his parents cooked us some munchies, we drank champagne out of disposable cups and we played Guitar Hero til midnight! Then New Year's Day was with the fam, just chilling in the city. Hello 2011, nice to meet ya.

Friday night was an altogether different affair with the coming-of-age of M (the blonde hottie). We had fun dancing and sitting in our little corner and talking to two random guys that lined up with us at the door and drinking a bit too, so yes HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU M! It was Asian night at the club we went to, so we were actually the tallest girls there that night (no offence short Asians :D)

My best friends ^^ Once some random came up to us and called us Charlie's Angels, ahaha.

I'm going to miss M so muchhh, she's going to Canberra for ADFA - defence force academy - and I hope she comes back to visit lots!!

PS. Apparently I've posted my 100th post! A couple of posts back I do believe. WOOHOO.
It's also getting close to the 1st birthday of TEE&FAME, how terribly exciting this all is.

"READY TO GO OUT"

Hey guys! So 2threads, style network extraordinare, along with Smirnoff's Cocktails have invited me to share my "getting ready to go out" moment!

I only turned legal this year, but I've already pretty much taken advantage of my coming-of-age, with heaps of nights out with my best friend Em even during Year 12, when I supposedly should be "studying" all night ;)

Soo first of all, outfit.
Well, there's definitely no shortage of pieces to pick for my nights out. My best tip is to just choose one statement piece of clothing and work with it.

Black is a no-fail option, so I pretty much resort to that half the time! Here I'm wearing a black lace dress from Lolitta, and Em is wearing a purple dress of mine from Myers. We stuck to the bare minimum of anything else, especially for clubbing - no humongous jewellery or towering shoes!

Okay, next we have make-up and hair, I have to say I'm no expert at this aspect, but here I've made a little collage of the process for you:

My bag must-haves:

1. ID
2. Some spare cash (cab, drinks, just-in-case)
3. Lipstick/powder for touch-ups
4. Phone
6. Flats, for a quick fix to those 3am blisters!

DO:

- Look confident, all that time spent getting ready wasn't for nothing you know :D
- Dance. No one is gonna judge you. Seriously. Shake it!!
- Have pre-drinks at someone's house beforehand; drinks are just crazily expensive and the buzz will also ensure that you're relaxed when you get to the venue!

Oh, and don't forget to take some photos of the actual night too, and enjoy yourself responsibly girls!

Hey everyone, good news! I received my Lucky13 dress in the mail today!! Totally exciting, and I can't wait to wear it on schoolies in Qld, and all through the summer, it's so hot. Thank you to Lucky 13 and to Margeret from Shine By Three for the awesome prize.

I luuurve the open back and mini-length! Couldn't wait to snap some pics haha, you can see my school bag in the background and I'm still wearing my school scrunchie ha!

Argh I've also had a pretty tiring week coming back to school after a pretty relaxing three-week Spring break! Good news is: I only have two more weeks of Year 12, then exams, then Queensland for sun, sand and sea :)

Sorry for all this random ranting, but I'm pretty darn happy at the moment. I also got the job for Forever New!! I can't wait for that tasty 40% discount, *giggle*.

I've got a job interview on Tuesday, and it's for the store Forever New, which is a really feminine fashion store. I really like some of their stuff atm, I just bought a couple of pieces last week, including the cutest pink pleat skirt. I don't usually wear a lot of pink, but this is a nice dusky pink that isn't TOO girly! Although, to tone down the 'girl' factor I'm wearing a sequinned biker jacket haha. Typical.

Ah the lovely Kit Willow has impressed me greatly in her new Spring collection!
Inspired by nature, evidently, she's designed a lush digital print on silk tulle and a cotton viscose knit from an enlarged image of a wild zebra's mohawk and cut them into an asymmetrically draped party dress and a tank and sarong pant set, just for starters.

Balancing tribal, smooth Mr. Zebra print, Willow embellished a black zip-up vest minidress with metal and plastic paillettes and tossed it over an acid yellow bra. Ingenious.

Oh and check out the video - amazing stuff!

Spring is here at last and I really couldn't be happier :D

Oh and got my wisom teeth out. I'm swollen as hell, around the face, and it's NOT attractive, so unfortunately no outfit posts for a couple of days at least!

Ji Ji Kiki is an online boutique with a vintage, kitsch and kawaii touch. We sell jewellery, accessories and clothing from a selection of independent designers from around the world.

Emma, now tell me a bit about yourself and what inspires you.
I've always wanted to run my own business and whilst at uni I sold vintage jewellery and accessories on eBay. I loved it and did quite well from it (it kept me in gig tickets!) so when I left uni I decided to carry on.
I did a couple of temp jobs when I left uni, but as the business started getting busier I decided to take the plunge, setting up a website and running Ji Ji Kiki full time-luckily its paid off. It can be a lot of hard work and sometimes when I'm packaging orders or making jewellery at 2 o'clock in the morning I wonder if I'm mad but then I think of my friends having to sit in rush hour traffic everyday...which makes me feel better ;)

18th Birth Anniversary :)

Today is my 18th birthday! I've been waiting for this day for SO long; the day I become and adult, and can drive, vote, drink...now I'm 18 and it's time to partay :D

Met Emma for breakfast in Yarraville (if you remember, Yarraville is our favourite place to have a feed) at 9:30, so nice and early pretty much. Almost slept in, hence turning up virtually make-up-less (bit of eyeliner), and Emma practically did the same, woo classy :D

Had the most amazing meals, at a place called Java Cafe. Egg, spinach, toast, hashbrown; pancakes with maple syrup and strawberries. Heaven heaven heaven!!

Ohhhh and these photos are taken on...dun dun dun...a new camera that I recieved from my parents! I wasn't expecting anything, so to wake up with a brand new camera was just amazing :) Thanks mummy & daddy!

I am wearing: $2 op-shop find black jacket, $12 Deborah K grey military jacket, Giordano tie-dye leggings, Mum's boots, Diva necklace.

I have been crazily experimenting with all the settings on my camera, and still haven't worked them out haha. Might have to read the manual.

Also, making hair bows and selling them for charity - an orphanage in Siem Reap, Cambodia called Kampuchea House. Year 12s are having a "mega-mart" with stalls of food, games and apparel on the last day of term (Friday) so that should be fun!!

I really really love the leopard print and florals, and will defs have trouble resisting the urge to keep them all for myself...

All in all, a great birthday. Thanks to anyone who actually bothered to read this massive post!! Lots more exciting things to come, I hope :)

This dress is a home-made hand-me-down; my grandma actually made it for my grandpa! Cute, huh? :)

I'm still wearing knits, which is a bit disappointing because I am officially over winter. Well, not really. But I'm just sick of feeling like an ice-block all the time. Anyway, this cable-knit sweater is really warm, perfect for the ramdom cold spell we're having down in Melbourne at the moment (screw you, late Winter!), and kind of college style with the V-neck and cable-knit. It feels like I've got a whole family of lambs wrapped around me, minus their hooves of course. Sheep can do no wrong, in my mind. Oh and I'm wearing the belt backwards, for some reason. The bow bit looks pretty at the back, don't you think?

On to other things, not only is it Spring on Wednesday, it is my 18th birthday next Saturday! Remember to send me love ;) + gifts (just kidding)!

Even more wonderful than digi-print skirts, is space prints skirts!
This dress was on sale at my favourite store Glue and I haaaaad to have it - the bottom half is all shiny like satin, and galactic-y (if that's a word...)

I wore this to an 18th, which interestingly was in a scout hall. We basically just pigged out on finger-food, drank heaps and danced around to trashy pop music. But unfortunately the photos taken there are really not blog-worthy and might scar you for life (I look stoned/smashed), so I'll spare you the torture.

PS. Sorry; I haven't been a great blogger the past few weeks. I haven't had time to put together extravagant outfits/photos/inspiration or anything, so bear with me. School is quite hectic, but I'm pulling through :)

Knitted jumper DIY & grandma Leggings Target Belt Fake LV Shoes Mum's awesome brogues

Random coffee run at Yarraville; awesome suburb full of alternative people and indie haunts and cute cafes. WIth my two best friends, Em and M. I find it so relaxing to go out for a couple hours with friends between studying, it helps me refocus. We went nuts with vanilla slice though, haha which is so bad because I want to get skinny for Summer!

I love my green knitted jumper, it's SOOO comfy - my grandma is so awesome!! Also, my mum has this fake Loius Vuitton belt from China hahaha and her brogues are epic; I end up stealing half her clothes to wear.

PS. How freaking long is my hair?!

Decided to take a break from studying to take some self-timer pics in the backyard, please excuse the randomness, isn't my fave little rabbit Houdini cute?!

OH and I'm angry at my camera - I went to Em's house and we went on both a late-night beach walk and a morning one. I got Em to take a few photos of me and was gonna do an outfit post but then I get home and the photos are gone! :(

The lovely people over at 2threads have sent me a nice email asking me if I'll answer a couple of fashion/time related questions for them, for a chance to win a Storm London watch.

So here goes (I hope I didn't go overboard...):

1. The time you felt most inspired by fashion - your most inspiring fashion moment?

My most inspiring fashion moment was discovering the vast, worldwide phenomenon we call fashion blogging.

Last December, me and my best friend Em, both discovered lookbook.nu and fell in love with all of the snapshots of people’s daily outfits and amazing streetstyle. Through this, I found a link to an Australian “fashion blog” called Le Flassh, and I actually remember spending two hours scrolling through reading Dajana's posts, mesmerised.

From then on, I started my own fashion blog and was inspired to share with others not only my own fashion finds, fixes and faux pas but also my inspirations and the many wonderful things happening within the fashion universe. It was a sort of epiphany to me – not only did I enjoy putting on clothes and shopping and taking photos, I wanted to DO something amazing with this. Fashion has become a huge part of my life, not quite as much as breathing but close to it. I can’t quite explain it, but somehow there is nothing like watching a piece of cloth being cut up and sewn; it becomes something magical that takes my breath away.

2. The time you were proudest of your outfit or style?

Oh gosh, this is difficult; I've had so many style "break through" moments and outifts that I've loved so much I did not want to take them off! Just recently I can think of my friend Tom's 18th birthday party. He is a guitarist and all his guy friends are like rock stars; I wanted to impress!

I decided I'd wear a band tee, but didn't know how to dress it up. In the end, I chose my sick puppies tshirt and my combination of sequin biker jacket, leather-look skirt and Alexander McQueen scarf topped off with black brogues completely made for a killer outfit.

I rocked up to the party wearing smudged eyeliner and felt awesome ALL night. It's moments in time like these that remind me why I want to work with fashion! :)

3. The time in fashion you'd most like to return to is...

Oh my god.

Jean jackets. Ripped jeans. Lycra. Bike shorts. Tight, tight jeans. Agressive shoulder pads. Mohawks. Glitter. Overblown graphics. Splatter prints. Neon colours. Crop tops. Aviators. Leggings. Long tees. Hi-tio sneakers. Mini-skirts. Scrunched up leg warmers. Off shoulder sweaters. Big hair. Safety pins. Rubik’s cubes.

I'll give you one guess as to what era I'm referring to...

Just think Flash Dance, or Back To The Future! 1980s. Owh yeah!!
I love the whole 80s daggy, sporty wear and I’d have loved to live in a time when neon leggings, tacky jewellery and crop tops were considered “cool”. Call me a loser but that’s my idea of a fun time! I love dressing up in 80s gear from my mother’s closet; I’d probably get sick of it, but hey, just going back to experience the whole authentic 80s experience would be gold.

My dress was from Myer, on sale (woohoo!) and the label is Stella. I love purple, so fell in love with this dress immediately. I did my own hair and make up too, it didn't turn out too bad. Great night, great people!

Oh my god. I want to be dressed like this every single day. Pure class!

I could delude you and say that I am, but the truth is I'm in my purple checked PJ pants and my red Oxford jumper, sitting at my laptop next to the heater shivering my butt off.

The only thing about this collection I can relate to my life atm is those black shiny patent shoes are the same as the ones I wore to formal! :)

My. Life. Is. Effing. Amazing.

Not average, not aromatic, not any other 'A' word; ah-mazing.

- First of all, I think I actually did well on my chemistry mid-year exam!
- Second of all, I won my school's Senior Piano Competition (quite a prestigious event) in my final year of schooling.
- Third of all, Friday night is formal and I bought the most amazing shoes and I can't wait and ah ah ahhhhhhhhh.

Odd socks. I am in love.

Sorry for the huge non-posting last week; as I said, mid-years kill and there have been some nasty things going on in my life. Anyway, I bought a pair of Alannah Hill thigh highs at the outlet the other weekend, and here they are. Well, one of them!

Jealousy. Jealousy has ruined many, and now I am feeling the secondhand effects of it. I'm just a seventeen year old girl with too many dreams and a never-ending supply of second-, third- and even fourth-chances for people who screw me over.

RENAISSANCE DINOSAUR: What a show!!

Okay, I'm so totally not up-to-date with all the fashion weeks and I'm soo crazy busy with school and exams and things, but since I am kind of procrastinating right now, I thought I might like to share with you some photos of my personal fave from Aussie Fashion Week.

It all started with the glittery dirt runway bordered by large boulders and all sorts of creatures with the forbidden forest style backdrop.

Smoke blared out as the models strutted their stuff in theatrics with hand bound, claws scratching and piggy backs.

The hit of the show, and #1 item on my wishlist for this winter, was the thigh-high printed Neo-Preen babies as well as the lilac leather ones. Oh boy!

These are so outrageous; I dream of going shopping dressed like that. Or to casual clothes day at school, bahaha!

Romance Was Born: more than the sum of its parts! Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales have unquashable enthusiasm and sheer love for what they make and do and it's contagious.

So the grey marle movement is huge at the moment. I think.
I mean, everything from plain tanks to leggings to skirts are appearing everywhere - of course in grey marle. What is this?

A cute little ladybug landed on me, and small things like that remind me how beautiful nature is!

Because I'm epically awesome, and because the sun actually was considerate enough to show it's bright shiney ass in the sky today, I took some pics in my backyard. Wooo!
The sun didn't last long though - it was patchy cloudy and dark a minute later and then sunny again! So weird. But typically Melbourne, as we all know.

Lighting turned out really weird here...

Here are just some of the pictures from my trip away to Hepburn Springs last week. What a lovely town! It was great to get close to nature again after studying for a whole term and not really getting out for any walks or anything.

I didn't really have time to pack any great outfits or anything, as this was an impromtu trip - but it wasn't practical anyway, because we went bushwalking all of the days! I wanted to wear boots with the checked dress but lucky I didn't because we trekked over rocky terrain that day!!

DAY 2 - One of those ugly days; photos turned out very un-photogenic. Here are a few snapshots though.

Channeling my inner army chic - greens and browns and a la naturale face. I love my silk floral scarf made into a bow in my hair, do you?

Velvety-feel jacket from mum's closet, green knit from a Chinese market, way too big Kmart shorts, yellow Converse chucks.

My necessities - camera, tissues, water, iPod, purse, sunnies!

& DAY 3 (just bear with me a little longer, then I'll stop spamming you with images of me!)

We visited a waterfall which was ethereal in its beauty. No photo could capture the defeaning sound of the falls or the magnificent lushness of the bush.

My outfit was sorta french - I had a leopard beret, pearl necklace, striped shirt, French Kitty cardigan and dark jeans.

Stopped in a park for lunch and all the birds there tryied to scavenge food from us!

Have an absolutely wonderful day darls. I'm afraid I won't have much time to update as I have exams in a few weeks time...hopefully I'll have some exciting things for you soon.

PS. I need some advice, pronto! My formal dress is purple...and I don't know what colour shoes I should buy for it. Anyone have any clues?

I can't find any shoes to match the purple of the dress, and black is maybe too dark. Silver or gold, white maybe? Thanks guys, keep the suggestions rollin' in :)

It's the last day of holidays. Uhhhh, it's back to school for me, siiigh. Two weeks of holidays went waay too fast, too much homework time and not enough blogging time. Me so sad. The good thing is there are only two terms left until I graduate though! WOOHOO! I can't wait.

a touch of late night & a taste of japan

TERM 1 OF MY FINAL YEAR OF SCHOOLING IS OVERRR!

Me and my two best friends Em and Miriam went out to celebrate last night. We went to a Lolitta warehouse sale and picked up some bargains! Em got a gorgeous floral bustier which I will defs be stealing sometime in the near future ;)

I'm wearing: Giordano white tee/Luca&Marc floral scarf/Target black leopard peplum skirt/Agent99 bangles

Then we went to get cocktails, at our favourite japanese haunt, Shou Sumiyaki. It's got great food, wonderful music and a calm ambience perfect for Friday nights out.

Japanese food is simply amazing. We had miso soup, the other two had prawn tempura, and we had these grilled veges that we cooked ourselves! Ahhhhh, heaven!

We gossiped and chilled and had a heap of fun, then we went out into the city for a leisurely stroll and soaked up the atmosphere. Whenever we three go out, we get called Charlie's Angels because we are all tall and our hair colours correspond!

Well, we definitely had a lot more than a *nice* day!

All the Springs looks are now coming in, and I'm wondering how much of the exposed brassiere look will filter through to the general public?! I mean, unless you are a pop star or lady gaga, this trend should be worn sparingly...I would probably try the Rochas look with the floral bra under a sheer black top, but not quite SO sheer...

So I know I'm a bit late and the next set of collections are already upon us, but I’m still thinking about the Miu Miu cat prints for spring/summer 10.

The swallow print and cat print shoes people have been showing off are amazing and I die, so badly! The shape is perfect, nice thick heel, super high, lovely! I've seen people all over the world wearing/coveting these. *sigh*

I first saw this collection floating around on the blogosphere and lusted for the collared shirts. But then, I ~~fell in love with~~ realised the extreme beauty of the whole goddamn collection! There are crystals, cat/dog/bird prints, matching trouser suits, mermaid sequins, crazy long hair plaits... How could anyone not love this! Always excited to see what Miuccia has planned for Prada and Miu Miu next.

Oh, and did you check out the gorgeous drawings of the Miu Miu collection; by the wonderfully talented krisatomic! She was equally as besotted as I am, can you tell?

Does anyone own any Miu Miu pieces? If so, are you ~~in love~~ satisfied with them? (If you say no, say hello to my fist.)

It seems there's a certain way to wearing denim on denim; it's common that a lighter shirt is paired with darker jeans. But I did the opposite. I think it still works...

Australian designer Alannah Hill's AW/10 ad campaign is entitled 'Garden of Roses', and is very Alice in Wonderlandish and it’s so appropriate considering all the hype going on about the March 4th release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland!

I really am in love with this brand and I absolutely love going in store and into the factory outlet; the website is also whimsical and fun.

So my best friend Em just recieved her Alexander McQueen skull scarf in the mail last night! And she brought it in today to show me...I am extremely, extremely envious of her. She bought the black - it looks gorgeous!

I wanted the white one, as you can see in the pic above, but now I really like the black one too!

Help me; should I get the white or the black? Or maybe another colour completely? Let me know which you prefer and I'll keep you posted on this; ahhhhh I really want it!

Prada's Aussie Invasion

Hmmm, I don't think many would have realised, but there was an Australian slant on the quintessentially Italian interpretation of fifties women at the Prada autumn/winter 2010/11 show. Catherine McNeil made a return to the runway, and Abbey Lee smouldered in Miuccia Prada’s incredible clothes which celebrate so well the female form.

Catherine McNeil and Abbey Lee give the Prada show an Australian flavour.

But it was the surprising appearance of Miranda Kerr who caused double takes in the front row.

Among the collection I'm loving the clever tailoring in dramatic dresses and double breasted coats.

I also dig the featured PVC skirts, chunky knit &, cats eye sunglasses - retro appeal with contemporary strength.

These women are one part sexy librarian, two parts femme fatale and I seriously can't wait for people's interpretations of this look!
